Through 30 years as custom builder in the UK, Overwater have been lucky enough to work with an impressive roster of players, from legendary stars, to "first call" freelance session bassists on both sides of the Atlantic, building an enviable legendary reputation. Despite three decades of production and the professional industry respect Overwater enjoys, the basses have only been available in limited numbers to a privileged few; until a recent partnership with Tanglewood guitars.
The Overwater Aspiration Standard bass guitar is a fantastic edition of these excellent affordable instruments. The passive electronics, featuring volume, pan control and 'treble roll-off' tone control work effortlessly with a smooth response throughout each of their travels. The Metallic Blue finish coats a poplar body on to which a one piece maple neck is bolted. There's a neat set of tuning keys and a lovely matching coloured headstock. The full 24 fret neck with a 19mm spacing and a 40mm nut width feels nice, slim and quick to navigate.
